Turmeric

Turmeric fights facial skin problems

Unlike other, more controversial therapies, the use of turmeric to treat acne has a positive effect on the condition of the skin.

Turmeric has long been prized in many parts of the world for its medicinal and cosmetic properties. Although it is usually used as a food ingredient, many people prefer to use it in medicinal treatments.

Turmeric contains an active compound called curcumin, which gives it its characteristic color and is responsible for much of its properties. This substance has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, which makes it worth using both orally and topically.

It is not surprising, therefore, that an extract made from it is used in dermatology. Although research on its properties is still ongoing, it is now widely recognized as a natural remedy for skin problems such as acne.

In order to take full advantage of the properties of turmeric, which are useful in treating acne, we suggest using a therapy that strengthens the effects of this amazing spice by adding coconut oil .

This natural product contains lauric acid, valued for its antibacterial properties and useful in the treatment of acne .

In addition, the use of coconut oil in dermatology has been extensively researched as it moisturizes the skin and helps heal conditions such as psoriasis and eczema . Like turmeric, it also supports the scarring and regeneration process, minimizing the negative effects of free radicals .

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of powdered turmeric (15 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil (30 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (15 g)

Preparation

  1. At the very beginning, pour the turmeric powder into a clean container.
  2. Then add coconut oil and honey.
  3. Mix everything for a few minutes until you get a homogeneous mass.

Usage method

  • Before you apply the mask to acne-prone skin, you need to remove any makeup residue and dirt .
  • Once your face is clean, you can start applying the mask.
  • Make sure you cover the problem areas completely.
  • Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, then rinse it with warm water.
  • Repeat the steps mentioned above and apply the mask at least three times a week.

Note: The action will not be visible immediately. To achieve the desired results, you need to apply the mask regularly.

Warnings

Although our proposed treatment may prove very effective in combating acne, you should be aware that it may have side effects.

If you apply the mask topically, it may stain your skin for a while or leave a yellowish tinge . Usually, a good cleaning of the skin will make the color change disappear.

It is worth noting that sometimes the ingredients of the mask can cause an allergic reaction or contact dermatitis . A 2015 study showed that curcumin is an allergen and can cause irritation, redness and swelling in people who are allergic to it.

For this reason , it is a good idea to do a little test before applying the mask to the entire face . All you need to do is put a little turmeric on your forearm or other part of the body. If or 24 hours you do not notice any negative reactions, feel free to use it.
